(x) 61 years ago Friday 10th of April 1953 14-year-old Assassin Lee Harvey Oswald attempts to assassinate Major-General Edwin Walker in Dallas, Texas, United States. Oswald considered Walker a "fascist" and the leader of a "fascist organization". Walker was sitting at a desk in his dining room when Oswald fired at him from less than 30m away. The bullet struck the wooden frame of the window which deflected its path. Walker was injured in the forearm by fragments.

(x) 6 years ago Thursday 10th of April 2008 49-year-old Performance artist Danny Devos aka DDV performs 'Ulrike Meinfuchs, Gudrun Fuchslein, AndreVos Baader und Jan-Carl Voske' in Oudstrijdersstraat 35, Borgerhout, Antwerpen, Antwerpen, Belgium. With the help of a professional hairdresser and photographer I reconstructed four photos that members of the so-called 'Baader-Meinhof-Gruppe / Rote Armee Fraktion' made of themselves.

(x) 6 years ago Thursday 10th of April 2008 49-year-old Performance artist Danny Devos aka DDV performs 'Aktion im ReforMuhka' in M_hka, Leuvenstraat 32, Antwerpen, Antwerpen, Belgium. I spread out a sheet on the floor and threw pamphlets at the audience. On a small tv-monitor played an excerpt of a documentary on Holger Meins. I placed objects and books onto the canvas and the canvas turned into a prison cell. Then I took out several ingredients for baking: butter, sugar, eggs, flour, and also some earth from my Hole. I mixed everything into dough and baked 2 classic sand-cookies. I undressed to my underwear and force-fed myself violently to eat the cookies.

Passengers included president Lech Kaczyński and his wife Maria, former president Ryszard Kaczorowski, the chief of the Polish General Staff and other senior Polish military officers, the president of the National Bank of Poland, Poland's deputy foreign minister, Polish government officials, 15 members of the Polish parliament, senior members of the Polish clergy, and relatives of victims of the Katyn massacre. They were en route from Warsaw to attend an event marking the 70th anniversary of the massacre.
