(x) 102 years ago Sunday 28th of April 1912 Illegalist Jules Bonnot aka Le Bourgeois known from ‘La Bande à Bonnot’ is riddled with bullets in a shootout with police officers at the age of 36 in Choisy-le-Roi, Île-de-France, France. After sporadic firing failed to extract Bonnot from his hideout, Paris Police Chief Louis Lépine ordered the building bombed using a dynamite charge. The explosion demolished the front of the building. Barely conscious lying underneath a mattress, Bonnot was shot ten times in the upper-body before Lépine shot him non-fatally in the head. Bonnot was moved to the Hotel-Dieu hospital and pronounced dead at 1:15 pm.

(x) 95 years ago Monday 28th of April 1919 40-year-old Serial killer Fritz Friedrich Heinrich Karl Haarmann aka Der Hannover Werwolf is sentenced to 9 months imprisonment for insulting Friedel Rothe in Hannover, Niedersachsen, Germany. Rothe was killed by Haarmann on 25 September 1918.

(-) 38 years ago Wednesday 28th of April 1976 Serial killer Jürgen Bartsch, originally Karl-Heinz Sadrozinski aka Der Kirmesmörder dies of malignant hyperthermia at the age of 30 in Landeskrankenhaus Eickelborn, Eickelbornstraße, Lippstadt, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. An official autopsy and investigation determined that Bartsch had been intoxicated with a Halothane overdose (factor 10) by an insufficiently trained nurse during a chemical castration operation to free him from his compulsive sexual urges.
