(-) 243 years ago Friday 18th of May 1781 Revolutionary leader Túpac Amaru II, originally José Gabriel Condorcanqui Noguera is executed by quartering at the age of 43 in Cusco, Cusco, Peru. Amaru was first forced to bear witness to the execution of his wife Micaela Bastidas, his eldest son Hipólito, his uncle Francisco Tupa Amaro, his brother-in-law Antonio Bastidas and some of his captains before his own death. After the failed dismemberment by four horses Amaru's body was quartered and he was then beheaded.

(-) 97 years ago A Criminal was Made Wednesday 18th of May 1927 Mass murderer Andrew Philip Kehoe detonates dynamite stored inside his shrapnel-filled truck, killing himself and Superintendent Huyck during a struggle at the age of 55 in Bath Consolidated School, Bath Township, Michigan, United States. Between 16 May and the morning of 18 May Kehoe killed his wife Ellen 'Nellie' Price. He moved her body to a farm building before setting off incendiary explosions in their house and farm buildings. About the same time he had arranged timed explosions in the new Bath Consolidated School building. In all 44 people died and 58 were injured in the explosions. After the bombings investigators found a wooden sign wired to the farm's fence with Kehoe's last message "Criminals are made, not born".
