Heppeard screamed and a roommate called the police. Moments later the police arrived and they found Hansen wandering around the neighborhood a little over an hour later. Heppeard positively identified Hansen and then a grand jury charged him with assault with a deadly weapon.

The bomb exploded on board of American Airlines Flight 444 Boeing 727 en route to Washington. Eighteen people were treated for smoke inhalation but there were no serious injuries.

Baby Fae lived 21 days with the heart of a baboon.

(x) 38 years ago Bomb #10 Caused Hearing Loss Friday 15th of November 1985 Professor of Psychology James McConnel is injured when opening Bomb #10 from 43-year-old Mathematician and serial bomber Theodore John 'Ted' Kaczynski aka The Unabomber in Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States. The bomb was contained in a hollowed out ream of paper and had an accompanying letter explaining that it was a manuscript for review. It was opened by Nick Suino, an assistant to Dr. McConnell. The bomb exploded injuring both Suino and McConnell. Suino suffered burns and shrapnel wounds to his arms and abdomen. McConnell suffered damage to his ear drum resulting in temporary hearing loss. The bomb had the initials 'FC' stamped into one of the plugs sealing the pipe containing the explosives.

(x) 35 years ago Tuesday 15th of November 1988 Eight people are killed and 16 injured in a racially motivated shooting spree by 23-year-old Spree killer Barend Hendrik Strydom aka Wit Wolf known for the Strijdom Square Massacre in Strijdom Square, Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. Strydom was sentenced to death but the South African government declared a moratorium on capital punishment in 1990. He was released in 1992. The square has since been renamed Lilian Ngoyi Square.

When the time came for prison officers to transport Rudd from death row to the execution chamber he resisted. Officers used pepper gas to control Rudd and he gave no further trouble. Rudd kept his promise to refuse his last meal.

Four months later Hindley's ashes were scattered by her former lover and Carmelite nun Patricia 'Pat' Cairns, a woman she had met in prison, in Stalybridge Country Park. Cairns stood trial at the Old Bailey in 1974 on a charge of conspiring to spring Hindley from Holloway Prison.

(-) 13 years ago Monday 15th of November 2010 Pop star Wang Bei dies while having facial bone-grinding surgery "to make her jaw line fashionably narrow and her face smaller" at the age of 24 in Wuhan, Hebei, China. The doctor in Zhong'ao Cosmetic Surgery Hospital sliced a blood vessel and couldn't stop the bleeding, the blood from Wang's jaw drained into her windpipe and she suffocated.
