17-year-old Mass murderer Daniel Scholeer aka Het Monster van Elverdinge shoots and kills his 79-year-old grandmother Jeannette Lacante, his 62-year-old uncle Albert Druelle, his 53-year-old mother Antoinette Barbez, his 53-year-old aunt Gabriëlle Barbez and his 56-year-old father Gerard Scholeer in Steenstraat 4/6, Elverdinge, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

Afterwards Scholeer said "They were good people, but so old-fashioned. I wasn't even allowed to be a rally pilot or a rock singer like Elvis Presley. And actually, I wanted to make the world a better place." In his room a list was found with 80 names of people he planne d to kill.

Dahmer cleaned the Sears' skull and kept the scalp because he liked his ponytail and wanted to keep it. Sears' skull and scalp were found three years later in Dahmer's apartment.

87 die in Happy Land unlicensed social club fire in Happy Land, 1959 Southern Boulevard, Bronx, New York, New York, United States.

The evening of the fire, unemployed Cuban refugee Julio González had argued with his former girlfriend Lydia Feliciano, a coat check girl at the Happy Land, urging her to quit. She claimed that she had had enough of him and did not want anything to do with him anymore. González tried to fight back into the club but was ejected by the bouncer. González returned to the establishment with a plastic container of gasoline. He spread the fuel on a staircase, the only access into the club, and then ignited the gasoline. González was charged with 174 counts of murder - two for each victim - and was found guilty on 87 counts of arson and 87 counts of murder on 19 August 1991. For each count he received the sentence maximum of 25 years to life (a total of 4,350 years).

With the first jolt of electricity, blue and orange flames sparked from the mask covering Medina's face. Flames up to a foot long shot out from the right side of Medina's head for 6 - 10 seconds. The execution chamber clouded with smoke and the smell of burnt flesh filled the witness room.
