Mussolini was wounded only slightly, dismissing his injury as "a mere trifle" and after his nose was bandaged he continued his parade on the Capitoline. It has been theorised that Gibson was insane at the time of the attack and the idea of assassinating Mussolini was hers and that she worked alone.

RAF members Christian Klar, Knut Folkerts, Günter Sonnenberg and Brigitte Mohnhaupt were formally charged and prosecuted in connection with the Buback murder.

(-) 42 years ago Saturday 7th of April 1979 42nd Prime Minister of Iran Amir-Abbas Hoveyda is executed by the firing squad at the age of 60 in Qasr Prison, Tehran, Tehran, Iran. Hoveyda was sentenced to death for "waging war against God" and "spreading corruption on earth". Before reaching the area designated for firing squad executions Hojatoleslam Hadi Ghaffari pulled out a pistol and shot Hoveyda twice in the neck. He was left on the ground in agony, begging for the executioners to finish him off. Finally his executioners shot him in the head. According to the autopsy report Hoveyda was also beaten shortly before his execution.
