Maigys went into the Hermitage and headed to the Rembrandt's painting hall, where he asked the keeper which of Rembrandt's paintings was considered the most valuable — she replied that it was Danae, which was not for sale at all. Then Maygis went to Danae, pulled out a knife and a can of sulfuric acid from his jacket and stabbed the picture several times with a knife, falling into the thigh and abdomen of Danae.

Lawson, strapped into a wooden chair and wearing only white boxer shorts, a diaper and socks, began yelling after his executioners placed a leather mask over his face. His words were not clear through the double-paned windows of the death chamber but he seemed to scream "I'm human! I'm human!" as the airtight door to the room was clamped shut.

(-) 20 years ago Thursday 15th of June 2000 Murderer Paul Selso Nuncio is executed by lethal injection at the age of 32 in Huntsville Prison, 815 12th Street, Huntsville, Texas, United States. Nuncio broke into 61-year-old Pauline Crownover Farris' home through the back door and beat her until she was unrecognizable, then raped her and strangled her to death. He then stole two television sets, a stereo, a VCR and some jewelry. He was arrested almost a week after the murder after selling one of the TV's.
