(x) 35 years ago Friday 28th of December 1979 20-year-old Performance artist Danny Devos aka DDV performs 'Death-Interruption - 1' with Frank De Busscher in Ruimte Z, Lovelingstraat 56, Antwerpen, Antwerpen, Belgium. Inside, the space was lit by 100 burning candles. Through the window you could see the tied up bodies of me and Frank Debusschere, a pointed wooden stick placed between their bodies and the door. It took four hours, until all the candles were burned up. Johan Desmet made music with tapes and found footage sounds.

(x) 27 years ago Monday 28th of December 1987 47-year-old Mass murderer Ronald Gene Simmons drives into town and shoots several people in different offices before surrendering without resistance to the police in Russelville, Arkansas, United States. Simmons walked into a law office and killed 24-year-old receptionist Kathy Kendrick; he had been infatuated with her, but she had rejected him. He next went to an oil company office where he shot dead 33-year-old J.D. Chaffin and wounded owner Rusty Taylor. Simmons then drove on to a convenience store where he had previously worked, shooting and wounding two more people. Afterwards he went to the office of the Woodline Motor Freight Company where he shot and woun ded a woman. Simmons then simply sat in the office and chatted with one of the secretaries while waiting for the police. In the week before Simmons killed 14 members of his family in two events.

(x) 12 years ago Saturday 28th of December 2002 43-year-old Performance artist Danny Devos aka DDV performs 'Parels voor de Zwijnen' in Vermeersch Pig Farm, Zedelgemsesteenweg 64, Eernegem, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. A handful spectators was led along a muddy path in the dark towards a pig stye where they can enter one by one. The pig stye is divided in partitions that hold seven pigs each, totalling about 100 pigs. At the end of the small corridor that leads through the middle of the stye a film is projected onto my naked body. From several incisions in my body blood is seeping. I hung there for about half an hour. The pigs got excited by the smell of people and blood.
