(x) 494 years ago Friday 10th of December 1520 37-year-old Theologian and church reformer Martin Luther publicly sets fire to the Papal Bull 'Exsurge Domine' in Schloßkirche, Wittenberg, Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany. Luther defended his act in 'Why the Pope and his Recent Book are Burned' and 'Assertions Concerning All Articles'. As a consequence he was excommunicated by Pope Leo X on 3 January 1521.

According to custom, Culpeper and Dereham's heads were placed on top of London Bridge.
