Bernhardt reportedly refused a $10.000 offer by a showman to display her amputated leg as a medical curiosity. In December 2008 the leg was found in the basement of the Faculty of Medicine in Bordeaux.

The other members of Thurnemann's Sala Gang Eric Hedström, Roland Abrahamsson, Herbert Jansson and Åke Lindberg were sentenced to life imprisonment. Thurnemann was imprisoned at the Asylum of Säter and released in the 1960s.

(-) 41 years ago Friday 22nd of February 1974 Tire salesman and would-be assassin Samuel Joseph Byck known for attempting to assassinate President Richard Nixon commits suicide by a shot in the head at the age of 44 in Baltimore–Washington International Airport, Glen Burnie, Maryland, United States. Byck shot and killed Maryland Aviation Administration Police officer George Neal Ramsburg before storming aboard Delta Air Lines DC-9 Flight 523 to Atlanta, which he wanted to crash on the White House to kill President Nixon. When pilots Reese Doug Loftin and Fred Jones told him they could not take off until wheel blocks were removed he shot them both. After a standoff with police Byck committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.

Warhol had been making good recovery from a routine gallbladder surgery before dying in his sleep. Warhol's family sued the hospital for inadequate care, saying that the arrhythmia was caused by improper care and water intoxication. The malpractice case was quickly settled out of court and Warhol's family received an undisclosed sum of money.
