1954 (-)  Mathematician and cryptographer Alan Mathison Turing aka The Father of Computer Science, commits suicide by eating an apple laced with cyanide at the age of 41 in Hollymeade, Wilmslow, United Kingdom.
In 1952, Turing was convicted of acts of gross indecency after admitting to a sexual relationship with a man in Manchester. He was placed on probation and required to undergo hormone therapy. The Apple logo is an homage to him.
