Johnson's victory caused huge race-riots all over the country. In all, riots occurred in more than 25 states and 50 cities. Twenty people were killed across America from the riots, and hundreds more were injured.

Although Curie's many decades of exposure to radiation caused chronic illnesses, including near-blindness due to cataracts and ultimately her death, she never really acknowledged the health risks of radiation exposure.

Marilyn Reese Sheppard is bludgeoned to death by presumed murderer Sam Sheppard in 28944 Lake Road, Bay Village, Ohio, United States.

According to Sheppard he was sleeping soundly on a daybed when he heard the cries from his wife. He ran upstairs where he saw a form in the bedroom and then he was knocked unconscious. When he awoke he saw the person downstairs, chased the intruder out of the house down to the beach where they tussled and Sheppard was knocked unconscious again. He awoke with half his body in the lake. Sheppard was sentenced to life in prison and spent 10 years in prison before he was acquitted after a retrial.

Prudom was closed in by a firearms squad from Greater Manchester Police. There were a total of 21 penetrating shotgun wounds to Prudom's body which had 'insufficient velocity to enter the body cavity', a .22 bullet fired into the right side of his head which was consistent with a self-inflicted wound.
