Bridget Bishop, originally Bridget Playfer is executed by hanging at the age of 60 in Salem, Massachusetts, United States.

Bishop was accused of bewitching five young women; Abigail Williams, Ann Putnam, Mercy Lewis, Mary Walcott, and Elizabeth Hubbard, on the date of her examination by the authorities. It was the first execution in the Salem Witchcraft Trials.

Dyer was tried and hanged for one murder but there is little doubt she was responsible for many more similar deaths - possibly 400 or more - over a period of perhaps 20 years.

On 7 June 1926 Gaudí was taking his daily walk to the Sant Felip Neri church for his habitual prayer and confession. While walking along the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes between Girona and Bailén streets he was struck by a passing tram and lost consciousness.
